I wrote this piece in response to a request from the Residentie Orkest of The Hague to write a "one minute symphony". I explore the concept of "recognisability" which I like to define as musical material that becomes known to a listener through work-specific repetition. Using this concept, I aimed to create a piece that sounding entirely finished within this short time frame, rather than the opening to longer piece.
