There is a precipice - Amici3
I will soon be working on a new version of There is a precipice for a performance on 5th September at Gaudeamus Muziekweek. This piece is based on a short story by Italo Calvino which describes a city which is suspended between two mountains, the inhabitants living their lives hanging from ropes that straddle the peaks.
In collaboration with Amici3, led by Harpist/Architect Michela Amici we will develop new instruments inspired by the story for a special performance in Utrecht, The Netherlands. |
Other New Pieces:
Solo Violin for Georgia Hannant - I'm looking forward to collaborating with an old friend and wonderful Violinist Georgia Hannant on a new work for solo violin that will be completed in 2019. Georgia and I met whilst both members of the National Youth Orchestra in 2010, so we are looking forward to making a new piece together for the first time in nearly a decade!
Double Bass and Voice for Annick Odom - My latest collaboration with multi instrumentalist and singer Annick Odom will see a new piece that takes texts, poems and folk stories from Appalachia (where Annick comes from) as it's starting point.
I'm looking forward to more exciting projects in 2019. Details to be announced soon!
