No Important Person (vocoder and ensemble)

This piece is based upon a very long chord progression. By placing interrupted cadences in succession throughout the piece, I aim to create a harmonic world that is always shifting in tonality and never truly resolving. The physical process of writing the chord progression that underpins this piece was very important for me. It was written at the piano, by hand, onto manuscript paper, over the relatively long period of 4 months. I find writing in this way extremely satisfying, and I became completely obsessed with adding chords to the progression every day.
